Join the Couch Captains VA

It's free, casual, and even lurker-friendly.

Step 1: Sign Up and Install

  1. Register for a free account on FSHub.io
  2. Visit the Couch Captains profile and request to join.
  3. Download LRM and install it. This software tracks your flights and connects to FSHub.
  4. LRM requires FSUIPC, so you need to install that as well 
Advanced users: If you want to avoid using FSUIPC, try the command-line version of LRM

Step 2: Configure LRM

  1. Run LRM
  2. Click Edit/Preferences
  3. LInk your FSHub account
  4. Turn on the "Enable Virtual Airline features" option
  5. Recommended: Enable the "Black Box" option to auto-start LRM when Windows starts (if it's not running while you fly, it won't track your flights).
  6. In the main LRM window, click the Sync button
  7. You can now choose Couch Captains to have flights counts as flights for the VA.
  8. Fly anywhere! But you'll probably want to visit FSHub to fly specific routes, earn achievements, etc.

Step 3: Get Flying

  1. Get started quickly by checking out Assignments, the Daily Challenges, or just generate any random route you want with something like NextSimFlight.com.
  2. As long as LRM is running, just get in whatever plane you want and fly! You will get credit for all flights you do, even if they are not tied to a specific challenge, route, etc. Think of it as an automatic flight tracker.
  3. Using time acceleration (sim rate) is allowed.
  4. You can enable SimBrief on the integrations page to easily import your planned route (if you have one) on the flight plan page.
